Off the Grid.

Way out there — almost in another hemisphere, it seemed — this project required us to build during snowstorms. Not your typical construction weather, but then this isn’t your typical house.

Story

Backing to the national forest and a military range in rural Clark County, the Baird project created numerous challenges for us. For starters, the location in Highland Meadows Estates is out there — way out there! It’s also at elevation, which meant we were driving to — and building in — several snowstorms throughout the winter. It was worth it.

The craftsman-style exterior surrounds a warm and cozy, classically decorated home that is among the most livable interiors we have ever built. White cabinetry, subway tile, hardwood flooring, and simple yet elegant woodwork keep the mind focused and the heart warm. Outside, wildlife abounds — bobcat, black bear, deer — all viewable from the elevated deck off the kitchen where family and friends gather around a stunning outdoor fireplace.

Inside and out, the Baird home is a wonderful place to raise a family.
